Event Details

This class meets and exceeds the minimum requirements to apply for your Michigan Concealed Pistol License. Students learn defensive marksmanship, how to deal with the aftermath of a traumatic experience, Michigan Law pertaining to the use of handguns and self-defense, levels of awareness, and much more.

Parking: The Church does not have its own parking lot. You can park at the Veteran’s Memorial Park one block to the east at the intersection of Kirby St and Linfield Ave. It’s a 1-minute walk to the Church.

Bring:

-Pen or writing utensil
-A pistol that is .22 caliber or larger. NO MAGNUMS, black powder, or Single Action Revolvers allowed in class. If you do not own a firearm, we have rentals available that come with all the ammunition you will need. Please do not buy a pistol just to come to class, learning to buy
the right pistol is part of the class.
-100 rounds of ammunition. No handloads allowed, factory ammo only.
-Eye protection. Prescription eyewear and sunglasses will work.
-Ear protection
-Weather-appropriate clothing. We will be shooting outdoors, rain, or shine.
-Lunch and refreshments. A refrigerator and kitchen are available at the church. Bottled water and coffee are available for free.

Full payment for the class will need to be made before the start of class.

Although it is not a requirement, it is highly recommended that beginners take our Intro to Pistol class. You will be learning defensive marksmanship, different than traditional marksmanship. Beginners tend to struggle in this class. The Intro to Pistol class is offered at a 33% discount if taken before your CPL class for $50 (regularly $75). The discount does not apply if taken after the CPL class.

This class will teach how to avoid confrontations, the basics of carrying in public, the responsibilities of being a gun owner, basic firearm safety, the laws of self-defense, where you can carry and cannot, and you will learn the emotional, physical, and spiritual aftermath of a defensive encounter, and more.
